MY POETRY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:
HAIKU and BEYOND
Learn about haiku as a way of life, literary genre and creative hobby.
Topics include: a brief history of the shortest poetic form;
traditional guidelines and modern adaptations;
the Asian culture and philosophy behind the poem;
how to write haiku AND apply the haiku-essence to longer poems.
The workshop will include discussing participants' previously
written haiku... is it haiku? Plus a mini haiku-walk outdoors.
Beginner to advanced. Ages 16 and up.
