“It is a fun calendar for haiku aficionados
as well as for those with an interest in visual art.”
                                   -
George Swede, Editor - Frogpond

2009 Haiku and Brush Calligraphy Calendar includes haiku, senryu,
and a few short poems... from 34 poets.

Each month has 6-7 poems plus original calligraphy artwork of ancient Chinese
pictographs, with explanations. Plus a few more poems and a very brief historical
note about haiku on the back cover.

The calendar also includes the holidays of cultures around the world, plus full
and new moons, and solstices, equinoxes and cross-quarters.

The calendar is printed on 100% post consumer recycled fiber,
which also makes the paper chlorine free.

The pages are 8.5 x 11, it is all black and white and shades of gray.

little things have changed my plans.

    Holding It All

If my hands were big enough,
    I would hold the world,
    and help heal its wounds.

    But as my hands
are only the size of a page,
    I hold a pen instead...
    and the world,
    I hold in my heart.

             - Julia Butterfly Hill
